I keep forgetting to add the prompt for the 100 word Story podcast into my recordings, so instead I will just post it.
Here it is this week's 100 word story Challenge Prompt . And yes, I already have my story for it written and recorded and amazingly sent in.

Bad
By: Jeffrey Hite
"Hey, what is that?"
"What's what?"
"That flashy thing over there?"
"You you mean the flashing red light?"
"Yeah that's the one."
"Oh that's usually really bad?"
"Bad? What do you mean bad?"
"Yeah it usually means the engine is about to flame out and we are going to start falling like a stone."
"Oh yeah? So what does it mean now?"
"Hmm let me see. Oh yeah, that the engine is about to flame out and that we are going to start falling like a stone."
"Oh ok."
"Engine flame out... loss of forward momentum...prepare for crash landing."
"Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

The War
This morning there was a war between myself and my body. You see my body didn't want to get out of bed, I was relentless. In the end I won the war. However, my body did win some key battles and the loss inflicted on both sides were sever. There were the normal ones of course: the cold toes and eyes that will not open, legs that don't want to move and fumbling fingers. Then there were the usual ones, the headache and backaches are new, the razor nicked face. But I did win, hey wait these aren't my pants.

I want that one
Well it is that time of year a again folks. There is a nip in the air, time to put all the summer equipment away if you have not already. And then there is this.
"So sweetie what did you want?"
"Daddy, I found the one I wanted."
"Really, which one is that."
"The one with the red stripes and the pink horn."
"Really? Don't you think that one is a bit big for you?"
"Maybe, then how about this one?"
"Well that one is ok I guess."
"Good, then that is the one I want. I want that one."

Cat People
By Robert Jahns
In the 1950's, canines were as free as sparrows to roam our small town, following only their will and whim. They indeed were living the American dream. Maybe that's why I could never trust my yellow dog, Queenie. She enjoyed her role as a free spirit, heading hither and yon, with no apparent plan in mind. She became my dog, my responsibility, when my older brothers and sisters lost interest. Oh, I brushed and petted her, even bathed her when she allowed me to catch her. My hugs and pats were sincere, but she only endured the rite, not enjoy it. Food and water were always at the ready. I tossed that gnarled, saliva-drenched stick that she insisted on chasing. Part of her game was to retrieve the stick, and then feign anger with growls and a show of teeth when I reached for it.
The care given did not earn her protection. That old mutt never seemed to be around when I needed her. When that Watson kid started to beat on me, that old dog was always running in the wrong direction. Will I forever hate that Watson kid?
Jeff Thompson was the first to go off to war. Some country in Southeast Asia needed help. Time moves slowly for a boy in a small town. It seemed that Jeff was gone forever. Six years after his departure, Jeff returned home. He immediately went to the local bar and got drunk. No one saw the fight begin between that Watson kid and the returning soldier. Jeff proceeded to knock the snot out of the Watson boy. He never did approve of bullies. I glanced with admiration toward my new hero. Jeff showed the effects of drink. His eyes were a bit glassy, his stance a bit wobbly. He smiled at me with the grin of a Cheshire cat. Was he a cat person?
Probably not. That was my dog, Queenie, that followed Jeff home.
The Werewolf
By Jeffrey Hite
You know the legend of the werewolf. How he hunts at night for his victim, and can turn from man to beast to man again. The stories are true, you know. They are out there, and they hunt by the light of the moon. But there is a creature that is more dangerous that the werewolf, they are the werecats.
These Creatures come, not during the night, but during the full light of day to hunt their prey. The are very cunning, those fully turned take the form of ordinary house cats and take up residence with the cat people.

"Are you the clown or the Ninja?" The director said looking at his clip board.
"You can't tell man?" I answered.
"Well, you have the black on so I could assume you are the ninja, but what is with the big floppy shoes?" He stifled a yawn.
"Come on man, I am a ninja clown." I crouched in my most menacing ninja stance, then worked the squirt flower.
"A what?"
"A ninja-clown, maybe I should go with clown-ninja, I don't know what do you think?" I asked.
"Personally I think you need to find a new line of work. Next!"

Great Hites Short 16
Some wild things happen at the asylum for the criminally insane. But what I like is the asylum for the criminally sane, those people are crazy. Not crazy insane, but crazy as in they are in complete control of all their faculties, but still totally out there. There is nothing like that place. I go and just listen to the people. In the insane asylum you get the screams and crying, at the sane asylum all you hear is whispering and the gentle scratch of chalk on a blackboard as they figure out the meaning of the universe.

100 word stories with the theme "Then you put it in the blender."
Robert Jahns
Nancy was a strong, tall, yet handsomely plain woman. Six decades of farm work had roughened her hands but not her spirit. She knew that one day she would be successful. As years slipped by, success remained a stranger.
No one would purchase her cookies. Every morning, she would faithfully assemble all of the ingredients in the blender, using a recipe passed down through four generations of Okies.
Each day she would carry the cookies to market. Each evening she would dispose of them, all unsold.
Today was different. This was the special day that electricity came to her town.

Hello Seti user 91b235f59a396d54g0c5f27cd5b8d168
We are very amused by your search for us. We are touched by the fact that you care so much, to spend your time looking for us, but we are not lost. We picked up a map at the Texico station, it has been quite useful. But we are not sure what a NEW JERSEY or TURN PIKE are.
We do appreciate all of the things that you have been sending us, especially the Beagle craft, it was a little tough at first but then we put it in the blender. Once softened up it was Yummy.

I see the Light
By Jeff Hite
"MIS, Jeff."
"Hi Jeff, this is vendor Bill"
"Hi Bill."
"Jeff, what's the Joke?"
"Huh?"
"I got your package."
"Help me out. I didn't send a package."
"It has a Polaroid of a computer screen."
"You're kidding me, right?"
"Nope!"
"I told you know who to get a screen shot of the error."
"The one with the typewriter?
"The same."
"Maybe If the light from the flash didn't obscure the screen."

Sailing day.
On the day the ship was to be launched everything was perfect. The Captain and crew had worked many long hours preparing the ship. They had gone over it with a fine toothed comb and learned every inch of it. The passengers had booked their trips so they could say they were on the maiden voyage of this jewel of the western fleet.
The captain stood on the bridge of the ship, face turning red as he overlooked the miles of farmland ahead. Building a ship near the manufactures home town seemed like such a good idea at the time.

Hanging on By Your Fingernails
Do you remember the good times? I know I do. I wish we could have them back again, instead of where we are now. I mean, this is really no fun. You might not have enjoyed those times as much as I did. For you there was pain and tears with the torture, but for me it was all just part of the job. I am glad we did the thing with the finger nails. I know that was especially painful for you. But as my new employer tossed me over the cliff, I am hanging on by your fingernails.

"Dice! Give me a set of dice." I held out my hand, and felt the soft fuzzy something he placed there.
"There you go, sir."
"What are these?" I asked staring at the two huge stuffed amalgams in my hand.
"A set of dice like you asked for."
"These aren't dice, they're, they're toys I need some real dice!" I screamed.
The minder stared at me piteously with his red eyes before responding, "Mr. Bones, you know that the price of your reanimation was that you could no longer gamble so these are the best I can do for you."

"I hate waiting," Martin said with his best Spaniard swordsman impression. He paced the hallway not making the time go any faster.
"Will you stop, it will come when it is time." Jill reached for his hand but he pushed it away.
"But why do we have to wait so long?"
"I don't know, some things just take longer than others." Sweat trickled down his neck and tickled his back before sliding into his waistband.
"Sir." The voice came finally from the tiny window. They both ran. "Sorry your ice cream took so long the freezer door was stuck."

Today on NPR:
We have all heard of those new vacuum cleaners that claim to have the power of a tornado inside them. We all know that it is a simply and illusion, of spinning dust.
However, today in western Louisiana we found a man who has been trying for the last few years to build a better vacuum. Mr. Johnson has been trying to coax hurricanes into his shop so that he could capture their powerful forces and put it a vacuum cleaner. There has been some local outcry, so we got him on the phone.
"Mr. Johnson... Hello?"

Twister Robbery
Twister Robbery Audio
Originally posted on 100 Word Story Weekly Challenge
"So he took everything?" The police officer said suspiciously, "While you all just stood there and watched?"
"Look you are not understanding me. Let me explain it again. He came in with a gun and a twister."
"A what?"
"Twister, you know, the game you play on the floor? He made us play twister until we were so tangled up there was no way we could do anything but watch."
"And that's when he took all your stuff?"
"Yes!"
"While you just watched?"
So we made him and the two deputies play, while we cruised around in their patrol car.

An unexpected career change
Read to you by Thomas Hite
Somethings come at you so fast that you tend to miss the details. That happened to me last year. There I was minding my own business, working in my shop when the raiders came out of the trees. Now I am a wood worker by trade, but they put me to running a bilge pump. I am not really sure of all the details how it happened, but there I was pumping away. Now that our ship was forced ashore in Greenland by the authorities, I am looking for work again, how exactly do I put that on my resume.

Misses Green Ruins Everything.
This is about having your destiny cut short. I was all ready to take command. The CEO was obsessed with the GT-LATS take over, and his new Bride. I was about to show that he was unfit to run the company, when he showed up.
"Mister. Rugan. You've a guest out here." Miss Green said over the intercom. Did I mention that this is all her fault?
"I"m busy."
"He says he is here on a family matter. He's very insistent."
"Send him in." In walked the man that took it away from me.
"Hello, my name is Montoya,"

Who Dares give Me The Raspberry?
Who Dares give Me The Raspberry?
Read to you by Ann Hite
This comes from 100 Word Stories Contest
This is from 100 word stories Weekly contest week #120 on the Theme of Olive loaf.
Who Dares give Me The Raspberry?
We tried everything. The Nukes didn't touch them. The Chemical weapons, well they were a waste of time considering those suits they wear. But we tried them anyway and it killed half of us in the attempt. Then we tried talking to them. They liked that, but then they found out that we put olives in bologna, they decided we weren't worth the effort. Since then the few of us that could escape the planet have been on the run. Who would have thought olive loaf would doom the planet, not the green house effect. Al Gore, raspberries to you.
